My niece, Meshayla, who goes by Misha with family and friends, has always been
shy around me but often seemed interested in hearing my stories. In this
picture, she is sitting next to her mother, Tammy who is to the right out of the
picture's frame. Misha had been sitting quietly listening and watching as Tammy
and I talked about phone numbers, cell phones, digital cameras, and digital
pictures. So, while my sister Tammy made the picture she had just snapped of me
into an icon for my phone number I decided to snap a picture of her daughter
Mesha. Mesha was surprised the first time I snapped a picture of her. She had a
really big smile and rosy cheeks, that had gotten that way very quickly.
Unfortunately, she was looking at Tammy's picture of me, trying to hide even if
only with her eyes, and Tammy was only half in the picture. I wanted another
one. I snapped again. By now Meshayla had overcome her instinct to flee but the
picture still did not come out as well as I wanted so I snapped this last one as
she composed a warm smile for me. By the last shot, her cheeks had time become
several shades less rosy but you can still see some of it in the picture above.
The first picture with Mesha's frightened delight showing in her eyes turned out
good but I like this picture best.
Hey, Tammy, if you ever make me mad I will display that second picture in the
series, it has you in it. You especially would not like that picture because it
makes you look silly. :)
